ZOOM Modern Joggers
ZOOM Modern Joggers
A new pattern from Jalie! I’m not a jogging pant kinda gal, but I LOVE these Zoom modern joggers #4238! They have STYLE!
Like, there’s elastic in that waistband! And did you see those pockets?
Here’s Jalie’s description of this new pattern:
Jogger pants pattern designed for French terry. High-rise cut with wide elastic waistband, back yoke to reduce bulk, and practical hip pockets. The pocket opening and band design give a unique style to the front. These jogger pants are finished with ankle cuffs. See more by clicking here.
This pattern includes sizes for kids, teens, and adults (up to 2X) Here’s the link.
I made mine using an “unknown fiber” remnant from Fabricland. It had the right amount of stretch and had some “heft” and it’s perfect for this pattern. (And obviously it’s the right colour, too, matches one of my many Emilie’s)(And I have some leftover for Karine)(another new pattern from Jalie.)
The fit on these is great for my mature figure. I like that the waist is at my waist and there’s no baggy bum.
The pockets are deep enough for my keys and my phone. The pocket is genius. In fact EVERY Jalie pattern I sew has a detail that takes it up a few notches. This one has a few of those. The side seam sits a bit to the front and is very slimming. Doesn’t Jalie’s raglan 3245 top these well? It was the focus for this post.
This top is the sample I made for a class I taught via zoom for “That Sewing Place” in Newmarket.
I will add 2 inches to the leg length of my next pair.
This photo shows the Zoom modern joggers with Karine raglan cardigan. I’ll review it next, and warn you, they make a GREAT outfit!
Good Morning!
I ordered the Zoom Modern Joggers pattern! Love your make but I was wondering about the stretch in French Terry. The pattern calls for stretch in both the length and width.
Did your French Terry meet both these requirements? I have made sweatshirts with French Terry but found they didn’t have much stretch.
Thanks so much for your response.
Fingers crossed for a Fall Creative Festival show this year and hopes you’ll be there!!
Hi Maryann, thank you for reaching out. My fabric just barely stretches enough in the length. It does, but it’s a tug. They fit nicely though, but I do wish they were a bit longer. That’s where the minimal stretch affects the fit. As for the Creativfestival, if it’s on, I’ll be there. And teach if I can. I have not heard a word though. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks!!! Much appreciated. 😉
