Tania 3906 Sew-Along Wrap-up
Tania 3906 Sew-Along Wrap-up
My work on this one is complete, so here’s our Tania 3906 sew-along wrap-up.
My first official sew-along was this one; Tania 3906, a coatigan by Jalie. 46 people participated, some of whom disappeared without a word. The remainder were very generous with their comments, photos, and support. Thank you.
If you’ve landed here through a “re-direct” link, welcome.
The Sew-along Notes are now available for Purchase
All the blog posts with tutorials have been moved, but I created a booklet with all the instructions which is available for purchase. All the PDF’s have been re-formatted and are print-ready, including all the diagrams and photos. They include alterations, stabilizing the pocket front, finishing the facing and hems with bias binding, adding a zipper, converting to a no-seam back, and much much more. Clicking on the “Buy Now” button will take you to where you can buy my booklet.
My next Sew-Along will feature another Jalie pattern, 3461, Eleonore pull-on jeans. If you plan on joining us/me, and don’t have that pattern yet, it’s available at Jalie’s site, click here for a shortcut. I plan to start mid-August and will post more info as we get closer, along with sign-up information.
The sew-along will include alterations in the rise,top-stitching with single and twin-needles, adding Jalie’s pocket if you purchased the add-on, or not if you didn’t, customizing the back pockets and more.
Were you one of our participants? Did you make a Tania coatigan? How about those Eleonore pull-on jeans? Joining us for that sew-along?
I didn’t participate because I find your sew along a little confusing. Do you have to sign up to participate? Do you have to pay? This is very different from any sew along I have seen. I didn’t understand the concept of protected posts.
Hi Becky, I’m sorry you found my sew-along a little confusing and unusual. To start with, it’s over. It began in May of 2019 and wrapped up this past weekend. It was free, but my tutorials were password protected. I spent well over 50 hours writing notes, answering questions and making samples, and I wanted to know who was participating.
All the tutorials are still available, but at a small charge. Blogging isn’t free, and although I love what I do, sharing my creativity and passion for sewing, it helps defray some of the costs.
I’m starting another sew-along in mid August, it will be run along the same lines, free, but password protected. This time I’m doing the Eleonore Pull-on Jeans, another Jalie. I’d love for you to join me.
I hope things are a little clearer now.
