Quilts of Valour Brave and Bold
Quilts of Valour
Volunteering time, effort and resources are great ways to make your community a better place to live. Yesterday, February 1st, the Trenton Friends of Quilts of Valour participated in the 2nd Annual Quilts of Valour Sewing Bee. This wonderful group of volunteers already meets twice a month to sew quilts together, so it was another great day!
Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure that injured Canadian Forces members are recognized for their service and commitment to our country. We give this support through the presentation of quilts to comfort our past and present Canadian Forces members.
Our area representative Denise is holding a gorgeous cake donated by Smilies Independent Grocer.
Our group sewed so many squares that as a result, we have enough for at least 3 quilt tops! And we’re not finished, as many in the group took kits home to sew.
Sponsor a Quilt of Valour
Quilts of Valour – Canada Society™ (QOVC™) is a non-profit organization dedicated to giving quilts of comfort to our ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members, past and present.
As a volunteer organization, we rely exclusively on support from generous donors to provide materials for our quilters. These dedicated quilters generously donate their time to create these beautiful Quilts of Valour™ (QOV™) for our injured Canadian Armed Forces personnel. The cost of materials for one QOV™ is approximately $250.00.
I humbly request your company’s support in ‘sponsoring’ one, or more, of these very important and comforting gifts. Your sponsorship would play a significant role in ensuring an injured CAF member receives a QOV™, and say “Thank you” for their service to our country and personal sacrifice in the line of duty. Your sponsorship will be noted on the official QOVC™ quilt label and forever appreciated by the recipient.

In conclusion; It was a GREAT event, attended by even GREATER people. We sew at the Trenton Air Force Base Chapel on the second and fourth Monday of each month and welcome new sewing friends. The Chapel is on Namao Drive.Trenton, and we have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/trentonfriendsofqov. Be sure to check us out, and “like” us too!
