Moving On, Thank You!

Good morning dear readers.  I have decided to close down my (this) website.  I’m moving on.

As you know, or might not, I started this adventure to fill a void in my life.  I had owned a (successful) sewing machine/knitting machine store that I had started in the 1980’s in my home when my children were small.  It went storefront after husband number 1 gave me the ultimatum; “quit this or get it out of the house”.

My business became very successful in Baltimore Ontario, then Trenton Ontario.  I loved my customers and loved planning and teaching classes.  I sold it in 2014, and spent the first year teaching classes and generally helping out the new owner.

Then it was time for me to move on.  SewWhatYvette was born in the spring of 2015 as a way for me to keep sharing my love of machine knitting and sewing.

The cost of maintaining this website has crept up to over $450 per year, and the few patterns I sell here don’t come anywhere near covering that.

April 1, 2025 I’m closing it down.  Thank you for being a reader and a supporter, it’s been a blast.
