Happily Sewing Along & Future Sewing Plans
Yes, we’re Happily Sewing Along
Guess what? There are 40 people participating in my Jalie Tania Coatigan Sew Along! Hopefully, they are all happily sewing along, but we haven’t even begun to sew yet.
It’s password protected though. If you aren’t participating, my recent blog posts are probably pretty boring. Please don’t leave me, there’s other stuff going on that you might like.
One of the details I’m going to post about is how to make the bias binding that I used to finish the edges of this Jalie Tania coatigan.
My post will detail calculating the fabric requirements, how to make it as a continuous piece without all that tedious sewing of diagonal seams, and how to apply it to the edges of the fabric. Not just this jacket.
I’m also planning to make a short video on how to use a “Point Presser” to professionally press the collar seams into a neat point.
And, I’m thinking about another Jalie Sew Along, and am open to suggestions.
I’d also consider coming to your group for a hands-on class.
btw, you can still join this one, (click here for details) just send me an email for the password and I’ll add your email address to my private list.
For another Jalie sew along how about the Eleonore pants?
Thank you for all the tips and suggestions. I finished my Tania this weekend. It came out well.
Next time I would make it a little looser in the chest. The linen is rather lightweight. I think I would like this pattern better in a heavier weight fabric. Will be interested in seeing what is next.
thank you for checking in Karolyn. I’d love to see a pic of your jacket, perhaps you could email me a photo. Are you planning to make another jacket? Fabric choice can certainly be a make or break, I’ve made 3 of these now, all exactly the same size, and they all feel a bit different. What’s next? I’m thinking Jalie Eleonore?
Eleonore pants….yaaay!already have the pattern and fabric!
good news Jane!
