Bunny Kitchen Towel
Bunny Kitchen Towel
Another Scrap Happy Class is in the record books! AND, I completed the classroom working sample, all in the same day. My bunny kitchen towel is finished and ready to hang up. And I only bent 1 needle, lol.
Adding a matching scrunchie makes it easy to hang over the oven door or a cupboard door handle. No buttonholes or buttons needed, making it sew simple. The added bunny applique makes it perfect for gift giving at Easter. One of my students wondered about appliquéing this sweet bunny onto hand-towels as Easter gifts for grand-daughters in place of chocolate. I think that’s a brilliant idea.
A couple of other students asked whether this idea could be turned into a bib. Why not? AND, the applique can be used other places.
The Bunny Applique
Here’s a close-up shot of the completed applique. A few stitches that are built into my Husqvarna/Viking Epic2 including the “tapered satin stitch”, narrow satin stitch, and the “small buttonhole stitch” combined to make this appliqued bunny kitchen towel a fun project for me to sew. Some sewed along with me and showed us their partially completed project before the end of the one-hour class.
Many “raw-edge” applique tips were included in this class and already I’ve have heard some great feedback. Thank you.
