Almost Instant Summer Sewing
Jalie’s Dolman #3352, is almost instant summer sewing!
It got hot really fast here in Southern Ontario Canada. Too fast for my liking. One day I needed a jacket, socks and shoes, the next day it was sandals, capris and no sleeves. I needed almost instant summer sewing, and Jalie Dolman #3352 came to the rescue.
This piece of gorgeous lightweight knit was perfect for the job!
The “sleeveless” version features a cap sleeve, which in this case is an extended shoulder. Just 2 pattern pieces plus a neckband, in less than an hour I had an almost instant summer top. It looks great with my well-worn Renee’s cut to capris length with added pockets. Read how I did that by clicking here.
I chose to go up 2 sizes so that I’d have the loose ease that I like so much. Loose without being baggy, and enough room for my round shoulders. The neckband was cut at twice the pattern width and attached the same way as a ribbed band, and I like the finish.
There are a few more pieces of similar knits in my stash, so look out, there will be more. As for the rest of this piece; I’m thinking Sylvie, #4129, the wide-legged shorts and pants.
Thank you for sharing. I love seeing what you make, especially
the clothing. Shirt looks really good.
thank you Judy! Have you been “summer sewing”?
