Elsa by Jalie, Sleeveless Tops and Dress

Elsa by Jalie is a new release!

It’s a pattern for three fitted, sleeveless tops and dress with either a mock turtleneck (A) or a banded crew neck (B) with the armhole slightly cut-in.  Extended sizing options go from child size 2 up to 5XX!

Elsa by Jalie is available in three lengths:

  • cropped top (hits at the belly button)
  • regular top (hits above the hips)
  • dress (knee length).

Armholes are finished with band for a quick and easy to sew project.

Pair the tops with the Lisette skirt, Stella leggings, Denyse (woven fabric) or Sylvie (knit fabric) trousers. I wear mine with cropped Eleonore pull-on jeans.)

Suggested Fabrics:

Light- to medium-weight knit with at least 60% stretch in the width and 40% in the length: Cotton jersey with spandex, jersey with bamboo or rayon, ITY.

The tops take very little fabric, so if you’ve been hoarding fabric leftovers, this top is a great way to use some of them up.  Just be sure to check the stretch factor, my navy with the white dots is a bit of a pull to get it over my head, lol.  That fabric was cannibalized from a dress that didn’t fit my back well, here’s my post about that.

The two shown above were a quick sew; cutting and sewing was fast.  I used my serger for construction and finished the hems with cover-stitch.

Now that the photos have been taken (before my tan fades) I can put them away with the summer clothes. (I’m in Canada and winter is approaching.  And, I’m always cold.)  I hope you grab this new Elsa by Jalie sewing pattern and make up some quick and easy tops, or a dress.  You can order directly from their website.  (The link will take you there.)
