120 Entries, 120 Winners

There were 120 entries, including mine, in the 5th Annual Sewing Bee at Patternreview.com. Amazing! And, of those 120 entries, there were 120 winners! Did you follow this first round? Did you read the reviews, check out the photos? Here’s a link to the blog post on Patternreview.

No, my entry did not move on. And yes, I am disappointed. 62 were chosen to move on to the second round. The competition was incredible!

But, I’m really glad I entered. I loved the process of selecting the fabric, the pattern, the embellishments and writing the entry notes. All under the pressure of a deadline. And I did it. And I love my cardigan. It’s a great new addition to my spring wardrobe.

What’s Next?

For the 62 entrants moving on to round 2, it’s all about zippers,
sewing an article of clothing with the Zipper(s) being the primary focus. Entries close at midnight January 31st! Sounds like fun, I’ll be watching the entries as they come in.

Me? I’m testing a blouse pattern right now for a designer in the Ukraine, and soon will be working for a German designer, testing and translating instructions for a fabulous winter dress. And Jalie usually introduces new patterns in the spring. (Did you download the free pattern yet, Yoko?)

I’ll write more about it all as soon as the patterns are released.
